Software development in Bedford.

Most of what a system costs is spent after it is built, changing it. Usually the person making the change was not there when it was written, has no access to whoever was, and is working against a deadline. Everything we do about readability, tests and documentation is aimed at that person, because they are the one who decides whether the system has a third year.
So scope is agreed in writing before work starts, including what is out of it. Code is written to be read. Tests are written as part of the work. Decisions are recorded with their reasons, so that the next person can tell the difference between a deliberate choice and an accident. And a handover means documentation, environments, access and the source code actually transferred.
We will also say when a system does not need rebuilding. That is usually the less profitable answer and it is quite often the right one.
Where a piece of work needs a specialism we do not have, or a regulated or qualified person, we will say so rather than learn it at your expense. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and we give no financial, investment, tax or legal advice.
